5 Questions To Ask When Looking Into Country Club Memberships In Your Area

Joining a country club can be a great option if you want to improve your social and recreational life. There are many great country club options out there, but you want to make sure that you join the right club for your lifestyle and your goals. As you begin to take tours and learn more about potential clubs, it's important that you ask the right questions to help reevaluate if a particular club is right for you. Here are some questions to ask when looking into country club memberships in your area:

Can You Take a Guided Tour?

You should always be able to take a tour when evaluating whether a country club is right for you. Ask to take a tour with the membership director and be sure to look at all areas of the club, even areas that you may not use as much as others. You may think of specific questions during the tour and the tour also gives you a chance to get a feel for the environment of the club.

Can You Get a Breakdown of All the Costs?

You want to make sure that you understand the full financial commitment of joining a club. There may be monthly and yearly dues but there may also be a set food and beverage minimum in place. Other fees to look out for include storage fees, driving range fees, and caddie fees. You don't want to end up joining a club and then get hit with surprise fees.

What's the Average Age of the Members?

You want to join a club that makes sense for your goals and your lifestyle. As you look at options, do ask about the average member age. It may be easier to have fun and hang out with members who are of a similar age as you.

Are There Set Tee Times?

If you're joining a golf country club, you may assume that you can golf whenever you want. That may not be the case. Do ask if there are set tee times for regulars and also new members.

Can You Bring Guests?

Some clubs may be more open to you bringing guests into their facility. You may need to pay additional fees for guests or family to use their services. You want to make sure that you understand guest expectations and rules in advance.

These questions can help you find the right country club to join. This can be a great way to improve your life and give you something nice to do away from your home.
